RedEye Hires A New Editor Alexandria, VA, April 2011 -- While most companies are struggling to maintain, RedEye is excited to add a new team member, Olivia Yeo. A video editor and a producer for over 8 years, Yeo (aka YO) maintains that she is always looking for a new and compelling way to tell a good story. Born on the island state of Singapore, she left her homeland for the United Kingdom to obtain her B.A in English Literature and Film & Drama at the University of Reading. Her thirst for Indiana Jones, Shakespeare, and the “West” brought her across the pond to Washington, DC where she received a MFA in Film & Electronic Media at American University. She is an avid traveler but admits that she loves living and working in the United States: “My love for this country continues and I currently reside in the nation’s capital doing the 3 things I love to do: editing, eating and running. Editing affords me to eat and I run so I don’t weigh a ton.” Olivia started her career as an assistant editor and progressed to the role of lead editor at VideoTakes, where she became experienced in all of the various phases of production and post-production, both in the edit suite and out in the field. She explains, “I balance my passion and creativity for storytelling [with] my experience working with a myriad of talents.” However, at this point in her career, Olivia says she needed a change, and RedEye was happy to oblige. “I was looking for a company where I could grow. I sought a place to hone my skills and talents. More importantly, I was looking for a company with warmth and heart as well as exciting possibilities and a history of producing entertaining and quality work. RedEye is all that and more and I am extremely fortunate to be a part of it.” Drop by RedEye and meet Olivia the next time you’re in Old Town! We know you will find yourself as excited to work with her as we are. The future looks bright at RedEye! |
