It’s with great excitement that RedEye shares its review and accomplishments for the year of 2022. The past 12 months have come with late nights trying to squeeze in a last minute edit, scouring the web for solutions to numerous software malfunctions, and juggling up to 14 projects at a time. Despite the stress and deadlines, RedEye was able to overcome these challenges and produce quality media for its clients.

With the COVID-19 pandemic (mostly) in the rearview this year, many events RedEye serviced were back to in person. A feeling of normalcy made its comeback in 2022. While it may not be and may never be completely back to the way it was before the pandemic, this year proved that a regular, non-dystopian life after COVID is possible. People got to interact face-to-face, sit side-by-side, and appreciate various awardees in the same room. Now is the time that has been anticipated for all of 2020 and most of 2021, and RedEye has not taken that for granted.

Over the years, National Park Trust and Friends of Cancer Research have remained clients of RedEye, and many of this year’s biggest projects were for these organizations. Some of the most noteworthy are the award videos, many of which were presented in person. In each project, the work of many can be seen in the final productions, and their timely completions would not be possible without the communication, collaboration, and teamwork that characterizes RedEye.

Bruce F. Vento Public Service Award

The Bruce F. Vento Public Service Award is bestowed upon a new recipient annually by NPT. This year’s award winner is Congressman Fred Upton of Michigan for his public service efforts. RedEye had the honor of creating the award video that was presented in person in Washington, DC. RedEye has helped to capture NPT’s Vento Award recipient in video form since 2007.

American Park Experience Award & Digital Speaker Series

Also for NPT, the American Park Experience Award and digital speaker series went hand-in-hand in honoring and showcasing Park Ranger Shelton Johnson. Park Ranger Johnson was commended for his advocacy for diversity in national parks. His digital speaker series as well as his award video, were created by RedEye. In the series, he interviews members of National Park Service sites focused on African American Heritage.

Ellen V. Sigal Advocacy Award

The Ellen V. Sigal Advocacy Award exists to honor recipients who demonstrate outstanding advocacy efforts regarding cancer and medical research. Jed Manocherian is the 2022 honoree of FOCR’s award for his advocacy and contributions to cancer research. The presentation of this award was also in person this year. RedEye has been creating media for FOCR since 2011.

Marlene A. Malek Public Service Award

The governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan, is this year’s Marlene A. Malek Public Service Award recipient. This award serves to honor public servants who have contributed to cancer research in some way, whether it is through a donation or their policymaking. This video brings together Governor Hogan’s own doctors and the leaders of FOCR to commemorate the politician for his service. It was presented to an in person audience and created by RedEye with care.
